美古本周歷史性談判促關係正常化

美國國務院官員今天表示，美方本週在古巴首都哈瓦那的歷史性談判中，將勸使古巴取消入境限制，並將美國辦事處升級為大使館。

這名官員在電話會議中說：「我們期望古巴取消入境限制，設法取消我方外交人員的人數上限，設法使我方代表團所需物資能暢行無阻地運送，並使古巴人民能自由接觸我方代表團。」

意在將對古關係正常化的上述談判，將由美國國務院拉丁美洲事務主管官員賈可布森（Roberta Jacobson）主導。他將是30多年來，美國訪問古巴的第一位外交高層官員。

然而在電話會議中發言的官員說，本月21─23日舉行的談判究將產生何種結果，難以逆料。他說：「雙方這項首次對話究竟會有何種結果，難以預料，我們並未忽視歷史的重擔。」
